We are selfish

Everyone is selfish. Selfish in a sense to make themselves feel good.

We are selfish for goods. We work hard for it or we steal it. Either way, these stuff make us feel good.

We are selfish for good feelings. We help people because that gives us a sense of emotion that will make us feel good. Whether it's a sense of accomplishment, sense of savior, or a sense that people are looking up to or like you. We are good in nature, and that's just because we are selfish and being good makes you feel good.

We are selfish to make ourselves feel good. Our action is determined by our value of how much good/happiness can we get from each action.

We go to school, because a sense of being able to have a good future makes you feel good (this is hope), or it can be because of selfishness for knowledge, or a sense of accomplishment etc. But sometimes we lose a sense of happiness in an action (school). If you can't get any kind of happiness out of it as a motivation, that's when you start failing, though if a sense of failure makes you lose more happiness, you may actually want to work hard yourself just so that you don't lose more happiness. But if you don't value a sense of failure as making yourself losing more happiness, that's when you give up.

Xbox One vs PS4

I owned a PS3, tried the Xbox360 and PS4, and watched a lot of video about Xbox One. The next gen (current gen) consoles look great with better graphic and more functionality. And I just love how fast it's to get in and out of a game.

If I am only getting 1 console it will be PS4. For me, it's all about the games, and I like the PS exclusives better than the Xbox exclusives. Though the biggest problem for me is that why can't I play last gen games on the new consoles? That's the only reason why I haven't got the new one yet because I don't want my old PS3 game discs go to waste. Otherwise I will just sell my PS3 and buy a new PS4, but now, I am going to wait, since I can get Watch Dog and Titanfall on my PC.

Football (American Football)

I like football (American Football). It's exciting, and highly strategic. I was first introduced to it by a Japanese comic/anime Eyeshield 21, which taught me a lot of the football roles and also got me interested in it (I was still in China).

Part of the benefit of not being raised in a football culture is that I have the freedom to choose the teams I like. The first game I watched was the Super Bowl in 2009 (season 2008-2009) Cardinals vs Steelers, which was shown in China. Love the Cards ever since, then there are the Chargers, Colts, Saints, and Broncos. Yes, I like a lot of teams. I watch the game purely for the enjoyment of the game and I don't quite care about the rivalry or anything else. I just want an enjoyable game like the Super Bowl of 2009 and 2010. Though I do wish the teams I like can all do well, but apparently half of them are just disappointing.

Backstreet Boys

Hey, fun fact: Backstreet Boys are still together and performing! And they had 3 new CDs out in 2007, 2009 and 2013.

I don't care what people think about them. Sure they are the so call "boy band", but I like their new albums (except for the one in 2013). They are totally different from their old albums with new style.

And while we are at it, also check out Blue and Shayne Ward.

Pizza Hut

Why do people hate Pizza Hut, and claim that they tasted terrible?  (At least in the Midwest/Indiana, no idea about every where else)

Pizza Hut is gooddddd, and their regular crust is my favorite among every other brands of pizza. There are multiple times when I suggested people that we should get Pizza Hut instead of others, they don't want it, and will talk about how bad it's. Then we got the Pizza Hut pizza, and they loved it and were even surprised by it "hmmm, this is actually really good!". Though I will accept the argument that they are greasy and unhealthy, but hey, what other fast food restaurant is not greasy and healthy? I am not asking you to have pizza every day.

My advice: try Pizza Hut if you haven't had it in a long time and your last memory about it was bad. And don't just blindly follow or agree with whatever other people said about other stuff. Judge it yourself, it may surprise you.

Fun fact, Pizza Hut in China is way better than those in the US. Better taste, atmosphere, and service. More choices on meals and pizzas, and of course, way more expensive, at least for the people in China. (might cost the same if you convert the US dollar to Chinese RMB)

Podcast

I love listen/watching podcast! They are usually funny and I can always learn something new from them, and for most of them, they can touch into all kinds of different topics that may be interesting.

3 podcasts that I am following right now:
By RoosterTeeth:
The Roosterteeth Podcast, and The Patch

By Greg Miller/IGN:
The GameOverGreggy Show, and A Conversation With Colin

By RocketJump:
The Rocketjump Facerocker podcast

I have heard some of the best/funniest stories from these podcast, and they are just in general fun to watch/listen to. They made me want to do a podcast myself with my friends, and it will be just like the intro for the GameOverGreggy Show, 4 friends, each brings a random topic and let's just talk about them.

Someday I will find a chance to do a podcast. In that case I don't even need to write this blog, though I feel like writing something everyday is good for me. (not counting writing codes)

Chinese Food

Chinese food is the better, though the "fake" Americanized Chinese food is not bad either.

People keep emphasizing how bad and fake the Chinese food in America is (Ex, Panda Express). The fact is, they are not authentic, but they are not bad, or even good, and they are usually cheap. To me, sure, I will miss the authentic Chinese food in China or some place in the states, but I don't mind the the "fake" ones at all, especially when they are cheap and comparatively healthier than other food. I think people are just picky about what they eat.

And talk about Asian food, how come all Asian food in the US are expensive except for Chinese food (at least for most of them). Chinese food are usually much cheaper than say Indian or Japanese food.

My dream (literally)

Keep a dream journal! Don't just have those amazing experience slip out of your mind. I started to write down what I dreamed about when I remember them and that helps me to remember more of them. Here is a short list of them:

Fallen teeth, being naked, inception dream, GTA V, dragon fighting zombies, giant octopus in a swimming pool etc...

My top 3 favorite dreams:
Giant alien ship attacking the city while I try to survive in the city ruin. It was like if I was in a movie.

LOTR. Elves escaping the chase by the Orcs and giant spiders. The sequence was intense and action packed, though for this one, it was more like me watching a LOTR movie rather than me being in it for a good chunk of it.

My only lucid dream! I was in a room when somehow I was questioning "Hmmm, I think I am in a dream." So I tried to test it by trying to jump really high and hit the ceiling. I did, and yap, I was in a dream. So I just jumped through a closed window (from a tall building) and started flying. At some point I also imagined myself being Iron Man and started blowing up cars on the street as I flow by. (I also remember there is a McDonald's nearby the blown up cars)

Wish I can have more lucid dreams, and apparently my first things to do in a lucid dream is to fly and be Iron Man. Cheers to Marvel.

Where I am from

I am from Guangzhou, China. It's fine if you have never heard of it, it's only the 3rd largest city in China that's close to Hong Kong, no big deal. I am an only child (duh), my family is just barely wealthy enough to help me through my 4 years of college. Born in early 90s (91) made me feel fortunate that I can connect better with both the pre-internet era and the internet era. It also helps that Chinese TV played 80s cartoon in the 90s, and that helps me connect with people who are older than me. (We will have a cartoon topic later)

I went to Purdue University for undergrads in 2009 and graduated in 2013. Studied Computer Science, when I found Computer Graphics Technology is more attractive but I may suck at it, and got an Art&Design minor, when I found playing music is cool (for the first time) but I may again suck at that (percussion will probably be the one I would go for). Purdue is in Indiana, USA, and the weather in the midwest sucks, period.

This is the just the beginning, I will keep posing short topics, since people have generally short attention span, I have even shorter one (which we will also have a topic on that later). I will do it hopefully multiply times per week and get deeper into my mind. Hope you guys dig it. [You know, dig into my mind]
